When Morgan went on Trek we decided to redecorate her room and change it from a little girl's room to a tween room. We had a ton of fun but we did have a few major glitches...like spilled green paint, not deciding on a color scheme until about 2 hours before she came home etc. But the end result is just as I hoped it would be. Morgan loves it. She stood outside her door and stared into her room and said, "Is this really my room? It looks like a hotel room." I think that is success. If only she'd make her bed.
We changed the color pallet from bright pinks and turquoise to a subtle orange, brown and green. We moved the furniture and painted the wall green.
We added orange accents.
And a Lane recliner for our little reader.
It is a comfy chair. On the bookshelf we added dark brown rattan baskets to hold her purses, hair accessories, notebooks etc.
We changed the knobs on her dresser and night stand from painted pink flowers to these.
We added extra storage in her closet for crafts and stuffed animals.
We loved these curtains because they brought out the detail of the dresser knobs.
Plus they hang beautifully.
I love accent pillows to bring in color.
A new lamp...orange of course.
Loving her new room.
